Conference on Applied (Bio) Geochemistry (CAG 2023)

8-9th March, 2023 | Higher School of Technology, Fkih Ben Salah, Morocco

About conference

Over the past decades, the global demand for natural resources has been increasing due to various parameters (i.e. population growth, strong economic growth, changing consumption patterns, etc.). The environmental geochemistry and geochemistry of exploration are both used to optimize industrial management and business strategies. The extraction, refining, and distribution activities of these resources can generates significant quantities of liquid and solid wastes (e.g., effluents, solid wastes, etc.), which can negatively affect the soil, water, and air by changing their chemical, physical, and biological characteristics. Solid wastes are stored at the surface and exposed to ambient environmental conditions. For example, ground and underground waters can be contaminated via the geochemical reactions during water-waste interactions. Furthermore, the soil/water/air pollution is known to generate pernicious effects on socio-economic development related to health status and ecological equilibrium. In fact, it is necessary to integrate environmental and geochemical studies as early as possible in the design and development of any type of industrial projects (i.e. agriculture, manufacturing, mining, etc.). The purpose of CAG international conference is to address challenges associated to the protection and valorization of natural resources, assess the geochemical behaviour of solid wastes to understand and predict their environmental behaviours, identify, and highlight the needs to establish and preserve a healthy and sustainable environment for future generations.
